What Piqued My Interest
Autumn is my favourite season. I love the cooler days after a hot Summer. (Most years anyway!). I like opening the back door in the morning and feeling a slight chill in the air and that scent of Autumn. Seeing leaves gather at the side of the road. Darkness descend earlier and earlier. The need to put on another layer and think about putting on different footwear.
I hadn’t thought of Autumn as a reset even though there’s always that back to school vibe. I often so Spring cleaning around this time. Or purge a few drawers and wardrobes.
Having the hens has made us notice the change in the seasons much more. As the days lengthen our sleep shortens. Up late to put the hens to bed, up early to let them out. We longed for darker days to catch up on our sleep.
What I Created
I’ve logged some notes, I’ve recorded Voicenotes and I’ve started a 90 day challenge, a gauntlet thrown down by
. I’m writing something every day. It might not be the best writing in the world but it’s words on a page. Mostly, though, this challenge is making me think. Some of my thoughts might not - yet - be logged, but they’re whirling around.From the Archives
I discovered too late how important note taking could be. I wish many times over that I’d found this habit earlier in life. There were some impediments. A big one was lack of privacy. Now it’s much easier to create a private space.
But, it’s never too late to start and I’ve been creating my current repository for almost 3 years. It’s starting to pay dividends now.
