I’m using a simple process to log notes and reminders, save content that piques my interest, and write and publish using tools that are part of my daily routine - Twos, Voicenotes and Obsidian.
Here’s how this week went down!

The Short and Sweet Version
What Piqued My Interest
Yusuf Dikeç - the Turkish shooter who won a Silver medal. I haven’t seen any of the Olympics but Dikeç has popped up with increasing regularity in my X/Twitter timeline. Daily memes are appearing, he’s being called the Turkish John Wick.
I loved the pared back way he shoots. Everyone else had all the gear. He had his left hand in his pocket and wore foam earplugs and fairly normal looking glasses.
A simple approach won the day and made him famous. Andrew Lynch describes this as sprezzatura. He says:
In my mind, sprezzatura is effortless grace. It's nonchalance. It's peak performance despite not being perfect.
This is my favourite meme …
What I Created
A topic for contemplation this week has been tech minimalism. Are we, like Paul Jarvis, detaching ourselves from the internet, deleting social media accounts and obliterating our web presence? Is it becoming a thing?
I pondered technology reversals, agreed that Google search is not what it used to be.
My husband told me about tangible media, real stuff - books, comics, VHS, DVDs, vinyl - things you can hold in your hands. It feels part of the same syndrome. A desire to go back to analogue, to what will survive come the day (and I think it will eventually) when the internet goes off.

Best Quote of the Week
In pitch black conditions, being dark, and being a source of light, amounts to the same thing.
Review of my Week
Since 29th July, you have been involved with activities around the farm and your personal projects. On the 3rd of August, you tended to the hens with Chris, who you were dropping off at the farm. You also checked on the lambs, identifying two that you believe are Dolly's offspring, recounting Dolly's history and her eventual passing but noting the lambs' growth and their curiosity towards you. Additionally, you handled various tasks including delivering eggs, picking up medication for Bamber, engaging in admin, invoicing, laundry, and starting to watch 'Designated Survivor' again. You have been keeping up with your publishing, utilizing a variety of tools for note-taking and content curation such as Twos, Obsidian, and Voicenotes, highlighting your efficient management of these tasks alongside your responsibilities at the farm.
This was generated in Voicenotes using the Ask my AI function.
